A proposal that is status "published" formally defines the
terms being offered by the supplier. It specifies the deliverable that
the supplier is offering to release to its customers, and the commitment
required from the customers. A commitment is a confirmation by a customer
to contribute towards a proposal. Once the required number of customer
commitments have been made towards a proposal, the Supplier will proceed
with building the deliverable specified in the proposal.
Typically, a proposal from the Supplier will request a financial commitment
from customers. But a proposal might also request a non-financial commitment
from customers, such as commitment to beta test a new release of software.
Visibility & Editing
- Customers can read & edit details of their own commitments.
- Customers with user administration permissions can read commitments
from all users in their own organisation.
- Supplier users can view all commitment details.
